The Yonus Davis Foundation (YDF) is elevating youth football development across the Bay Area through the PRO Football Legends NorCal × YDF Elite Camps.

These camps deliver high-level training, mentorship, and leadership development for young athletes who want to grow both on and off the field. Built on a championship standard, our programs teach discipline, accountability, and the fundamentals of elite football performance.

Through partnerships with Bay Area Community Resources, YDF supports youth programming across 181 Bay Area schools, helping provide structure, opportunity, and mentorship to the next generation.

Athletes train alongside mentors who have competed at the highest levels of the game, including players connected to the National Football League and other professional leagues, gaining insight into what it takes to succeed in sports and life.

At YDF, our mission is bigger than football.

We are developing the next generation of student athletes.

BACR CAMPS

Healthy Active Oakland Youth

“Elite Development. Professional Mentorship. Community Leadership.”

Launched in 2020 by the Yonus Davis Foundation, Healthy Active Oakland Youth is a community initiative dedicated to providing safe, structured opportunities for youth across Oakland and the greater Bay Area. The program was created to address the need for positive environments where young people can stay active, build confidence, and develop leadership skills.

Through organized sports, fitness training, mentorship, and wellness education, we empower youth to grow stronger physically, mentally, and emotionally while learning discipline, teamwork, and resilience.

Our mission is simple: create pathways for Bay Area youth to thrive, lead, and succeed both on and off the field.

Mental Health & Wellness Support

Amongst Athletes is a leadership and mental wellness initiative created by the Yonus Davis Foundation (YDF) to support the emotional, physical, and personal development of young athletes.

Inspired by legendary mentor John Beam, the program combines mentorship, leadership workshops, and wellness discussions to help youth build confidence, resilience, and discipline both on and off the field.

Through sports, mentorship, and mental wellness support, participants learn how to manage challenges, strengthen character, and grow into positive leaders in their communities.

Teens Go Green & Stop The Violence

Teens Go Green & Stop The Violence is a youth development initiative created by the Yonus Davis Foundation (YDF) to empower children ages 6 - 14 through sports, mentorship, nutrition education, and environmental awareness.

The program provides young people with positive outlets that promote healthy living, leadership, and responsibility while addressing the root causes of youth violence through structured activities and mentorship.

Through athletics, wellness education, and environmental learning, participants gain the tools to build discipline, make healthy choices, and become leaders who positively impact their communities and the future of the planet.

About The Yonus Davis Foundation

Our Experience

At the Yonus Davis Foundation (YDF), our programs are built on real-life experience, resilience, and a deep commitment to empowering the next generation. Founded by Yonus Davis, a former Division I athlete and professional football player who transformed adversity into purpose, YDF provides mentorship, leadership development, and structured opportunities for youth across Northern California.

Each year, YDF works directly with 500+ youth throughout Oakland and the Bay Area, offering programs that combine athletics, education, and community engagement.

Our initiatives include youth football development through NFL FLAG and NorCal youth football leagues, college tours that expose students to higher education opportunities, and Teens Go Green, a program focused on environmental awareness and mental wellness.

We also provide mentorship and one-on-one coaching for student-athletes ages 12–25, helping young people develop discipline, accountability, and the mindset needed to succeed in sports, school, and life. Through community cleanups and partnerships with local organizations, youth learn the value of service, leadership, and pride in their communities.

Why YDF?

The Yonus Davis Foundation (YDF) was built from real life not a theory. Founded by Yonus Davis, a former professional athlete who turned adversity, incarceration, and life’s hardest moments into purpose, the foundation represents resilience, transformation, and leadership.

YDF connects with youth in a way most organizations cannot through authenticity, mentorship, and lived experience. We work directly with student-athletes and at-risk youth, providing guidance, structure, and opportunities that change the trajectory of young lives.

This is more than a program.
It is a movement to develop the next generation of leaders.

Coach Yonus Davis Founder, Yonus Davis Foundation

Coach Yonus Davis is the founder of the Yonus Davis Foundation (YDF) and a former professional football player committed to mentoring and empowering youth in the Bay Area. An Oakland native, he played under legendary Skyline High School coach John Beam before earning a full scholarship to San Jose State University, where he helped lead the Spartans to the 2006 New Mexico Bowl under Coach Dick Tomey.

Davis later signed with the BC Lions in the Canadian Football League, where he was recognized as Rookie of the Year. Inspired by his journey through sports and mentorship, he founded YDF in 2020 to create safe, structured opportunities for youth through athletics, leadership development, and wellness programming.
