The Yonus Davis Foundation (YDF) is developing the next generation of student-athletes through elite training, professional mentorship, and leadership development.


Serving youth across the Bay Area, with a strong focus on Contra Costa County, our camps combine:

Athletes train and learn alongside mentors with professional football and sports experience, gaining the skills, mindset, and confidence needed to succeed on the field, in the classroom, and in life.


Through our partnership with Bay Area Community Resources (BACR), YDF continues expanding access to structured youth programming and positive mentorship.

Launched by the Yonus Davis Foundation in 2020, Healthy Active Bay Area Youth provides safe, structured opportunities for young people throughout Oakland and the Bay Area.


Through sports, fitness, mentorship, health education, and leadership development, we help youth build confidence, discipline, teamwork, and healthy habits.


Our goal is simple: healthier youth, stronger leaders, brighter futures.

The Yonus Davis Foundation (YDF) supports youth sports organizations and provides structured athletic development throughout the Bay Area.


Our programs include youth football, NFL FLAG hosting and team operations, Eat Play Learn basketball, track & field, and Babe Ruth baseball, along with camps, training, mentorship, and leadership development.


Through collaborations including NFL Alumni NorCal Care for Kids, YDF creates opportunities for young athletes to compete, grow, and develop skills that extend beyond sports.

Amongst Athletes is a YDF leadership and wellness initiative helping young athletes build confidence, resilience, discipline, and healthy habits on and off the field.


Inspired by the mentorship of Coach John Beam, the program combines sports, mentorship, leadership, and wellness education.


Through our collaboration with D20 Water, we also promote proper hydration and healthier choices for young athletes.

About The Yonus Davis Foundation

Our Experience

At the Yonus Davis Foundation (YDF), our programs are built on real-life experience, resilience, and a deep commitment to empowering the next generation. Founded by Yonus Davis, a former Division I athlete and professional football player who transformed adversity into purpose, YDF provides mentorship, leadership development, and structured opportunities for youth across Northern California.

Each year, YDF works directly with 500+ youth throughout Oakland and the Bay Area, offering programs that combine athletics, education, and community engagement.

Our initiatives include youth football development through NFL FLAG and NorCal youth football leagues, college tours that expose students to higher education opportunities, and Teens Go Green, a program focused on environmental awareness and mental wellness.

We also provide mentorship and one-on-one coaching for student-athletes ages 12–25, helping young people develop discipline, accountability, and the mindset needed to succeed in sports, school, and life. Through community cleanups and partnerships with local organizations, youth learn the value of service, leadership, and pride in their communities.

At YDF, we believe in one powerful truth:

Why YDF?

The Yonus Davis Foundation (YDF) was built from real life not a theory. Founded by Yonus Davis, a former professional athlete who turned adversity, incarceration, and life’s hardest moments into purpose, the foundation represents resilience, transformation, and leadership.

YDF connects with youth in a way most organizations cannot through authenticity, mentorship, and lived experience. We work directly with student-athletes and at-risk youth, providing guidance, structure, and opportunities that change the trajectory of young lives.

This is more than a program.
It is a movement to develop the next generation of leaders.

FOUNDER & PRESIDENT

Coach Yonus Davis | Founder & President


Yonus Davis is a former professional football player, Oakland native, and Founder & President of the Yonus Davis Foundation.


Mentored by legendary Coach John Beam at Skyline High School, Davis earned a football scholarship to San José State University before continuing his career professionally with the BC Lions of the CFL.


His journey—from professional sports through adversity, accountability, and redemption was featured on VH1’s My True Crime Story. Today, Davis uses his lived experience to mentor young people and demonstrate the power of second chances, discipline, resilience, and leadership.


He founded YDF in 2020 to create opportunities for youth through sports, mentorship, wellness, and leadership development.
